Tri-County 64-ACA-ICA 43

The Tri-County Trojans hosted the first round of 8 man playoffs on Monday, November 2nd.  The 10-0 Trojans would take on the 9-1 ACA-ICA Eagles.  Tri-County's Colt Brumbaugh had a great night running the ball as he had 274 yards.

Tri-County would draw first blood on a Colt Brumbaugh 45 yard rushing touchdown.  Andy Thomas ran in for the 2 point conversion.  With 7:09 on the clock ACA-ICA's Andy Harmsen would score on a 37 yard pass from Tim Olejniczak.  The PAT was good.  The score at the end of the 1st quarter was Tri-County 8-ACA-ICA 7.

At the 9:24 mark, Harmsen scored on a 41 yard run and the extra point was good to give ACA the 14-8 lead.  Thomas would score on a 20 yard run and Brumbaugh would run in for the two to regain the lead.  ACA's Olejniczak would connect with Jason Cameron for the touchdown.  The PAT was good.  With 4:01 showing, Brumbaugh would score on a 20 yard run.  The 2 point conversion was no good.  ACA would kick a 31 yard field goal with 0.6 to take the 24-22 lead into halftime. 

ACA-ICA's Isaac Lopez would score on a 44 yard punt return and the PAT was good.  Michael Armstrong would take the ball 25 yards for the touchdown.  With 4:59 left in the 3rd quarter, ACA's Olejniczak connected a 6 yard pass to Cameron for the touchdown.  The extra point was no good.  Brumbaugh would run the kickoff back to ACA's 23 yard line.  This set up a 9 yard run by Andy Thomas for the touchdown.  Brumbaugh ran in for the two point conversion.  On the final play of the 3rd quarter, Thomas connected a 49 yard pass to Ike Schmidt for the touchdown.  The Trojans came back to take the 42-37 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter.  The Trojans didn't waste any time in the 4th as Rogers recovered a fumble on the kickoff.  Brumbaugh would score on a 1 yard run and Thomas would run in for the two point conversion.  At the 5:36 mark, Brumbaugh would get the touchdown on a 4 yard run.  Thomas connected with Tyce Schmidt for the two point conversion.  With 5:39 remaining in the game, Rogers would get the interception and run it back to the ACA-ICA 7 yard line.  This would set up a Thomas 4 yard run for the touchdown.  The two point conversion was no good.  With 1:49 remaining ACA's Olejniczak connected with Aaron Leonard for the touchdown.  The two point conversion was no good.  In the end it was Tri-County 64-ACA-ICA 43.

"ACA-ICA did a great job offensively passing and running their spread offense. The first half we gave up too many big plays and stopped ourselves by putting the ball on the ground and penalties. We had a good ground game tonight and will need to do even

better against Lenox," commented Coach Edmundson after the game.

The Trojans will travel to Lenox to take on the Tigers on Friday, November 6th @ 7:00.
